Eminem Calls Out Snoop Dogg on New Song "Zeus": Listen

Eminem wasn’t pulling any punches when he went after a fellow hip-hop veteran on his Music to be Murdered By – Side B.

On Friday (Dec. 18), Eminem unleashed the fury on Snopp Dogg, in his new song “Zeus.” In the bar, Em attempts to annihilate the West-Coast rapper. “As far as squashing beef I’m used to people knocking me/But just not in my camp/And diplomatic as I’m tryin’ to be/last thing I need is Snoop doggin’ me./Man, Dogg, you was like a damn god to me/Meh, not really (haha)/I had ‘dog’ backwards.”

Shady’s diss toward Snoop doesn’t give much clarity to the beef’s origin. It’s possible Em is upset about Snoop claiming the 48-year-old rapper has no place in his top 10. However, the Detriot native and 49-year-old rapper have a long history that dates back to Dr. Dre. Both rappers were mentored by Dre back in the day. The world-renowned producer worked closely with them both on albums that transformed their lives.

Snoop has yet to say anything about the lines aimed at him.

Elsewhere in the same track, Eminem sincerely apologizes to Rihanna for a track that leaked earlier this year and mentions her past domestic violence incident with Chris Brown. “And wholeheartedly, apologies, Rihanna/For that song that leaked, I’m sorry, Ri/It wasn’t meant to cause you grief/Regardless, it was wrong of me,” he raps.

Much like Snoop and Rih, who earned different types of name-drops, Eminem names over two-dozen rappers in the Music to be Murdered By – Side B album.
